The ASUS ZenScreen is one of the best-known portable monitors and often shows up as the "top pick". Fair enough, it's a solid screen. But it isn't the smartest buy for everyone. In this article we explain when a portable monitor from Remodius is a better ASUS ZenScreen alternative: a bigger screen, an included sleeve, and warranty & service from the Netherlands.
What the ASUS ZenScreen gets right
Let's be honest: the ZenScreen (like the popular MB166C) is a solid screen. Its strengths:
- Well-known brand name with a strong reputation for monitors.
- Slim and lightweight: around 8 mm thin and under 800 grams.
- USB-C plug-and-play with a single cable, no separate power adapter needed.
- Smart cover included as standard, which doubles as a stand right out of the box.
Why people look for an alternative
Still, there are good reasons to look beyond the ZenScreen:
- 15.6 inches isn't large. If you really want to comfortably view two windows side by side, 16 inches is noticeably more pleasant to work with.
- Full HD, but priced accordingly. The ZenScreen sits at the top end of the entry-level price segment.
- Protection sold separately. A sturdy case isn't included as standard.
The Remodius alternative
The Remodius Portable Monitor 16-inch + Sleeve addresses exactly those points:
- Bigger 16-inch Full HD screen for more comfortable multitasking on the go.
- Protective sleeve included: your monitor is well protected from day one, nothing extra to buy.
- USB-C plug-and-play, works instantly with a laptop, MacBook, or phone.
- Dutch brand from Eindhoven: 2-year warranty, 30-day returns, and shipping from our own warehouse in the Netherlands.
