What type of plug do you need in Brazil?

Brazil uses type N plugs, recognizable by their three round pins in a triangular arrangement. Some older buildings still have type C sockets, which are also used in Europe. If you're traveling from the Netherlands or Belgium, your type C and F plugs won't always fit properly in Brazilian sockets. Therefore, you'll need a Brazilian travel adapter or an adapter to connect your devices safely.

Voltage and frequency in Brazil

The mains voltage in Brazil is either 127 or 220 volts, depending on the region. In many hotels and apartments, the voltage can even vary from room to room. In the Netherlands, we use 230 volts, so in principle, you can usually use your appliances as long as they support dual voltage (100–240V). Always check the label on your appliance.

Devices with motors or heating elements (such as hairdryers, shavers, or food processors) are more sensitive to voltage fluctuations. If in doubt, use a voltage converter to prevent damage or overheating.

Safe charging in Brazil

A reliable travel adapter for Brazil ensures you can use your devices safely without the risk of short circuits or voltage spikes. Choose a model that's compact, heat-resistant, and has surge protection. Modern adapters also have USB and USB-C ports, allowing you to charge multiple devices simultaneously – convenient for travelers with phones, tablets, and cameras.

Handy for every traveler

Whether you're visiting the beaches of Copacabana, exploring the Amazon rainforest, or taking a business trip to São Paulo, the right Brazil travel adapter will keep you connected. Lightweight, durable, and easy to carry, this small accessory will make your trip much easier.
