Which sockets do they use in Kenya?

In Kenya, type G sockets are used. This is the same type as in the United Kingdom. The mains voltage is 240 V and the frequency is 50 Hz.

Do you need a travel plug in Kenya?

Yes. Dutch type C and F plugs do not fit into type G sockets. So you need a travel plug to be able to use your devices.

Do you need a voltage converter?

Usually not. The mains voltage of 240 V is close to the 230 V used in the Netherlands. Most modern chargers and devices can handle this without any problem. To be safe, check the label on your device. If it says “INPUT: 100–240V, 50/60Hz”, you can simply use it.

Still handy to have a universal travel adapter

For Kenya a universal travel adapter is necessary. If you choose a good universal travel adapter, you are also immediately prepared for other countries with different sockets. With a Remodius universal travel adapter you have one reliable solution for all your future trips.
