Travel plug Poland 🇵🇱

Heading to Poland? Then we have good news: in most cases you won't need a travel plug for Poland. Poland uses type C and E sockets, which are compatible with your Dutch plugs. The mains voltage is also the same as in the Netherlands.

Do you need a travel plug for Poland?

No, in most cases not.

Poland uses type C and E sockets. Your Dutch type C plug (such as a phone charger) fits directly into a Polish socket. Your Dutch type F plug (Schuko, with earthing clips) usually fits too, because type E sockets have an earthing pin that slots into the hole of an F plug.

There is one exception: older type F plugs without a hole for the earthing pin do not always fit. In that case a simple type E adapter is enough.

A travel plug for Poland can be handy when you:

  • have an older Dutch plug without an earthing pin hole
  • make a multi-country trip where you also visit other countries
  • want to invest in advance in a world adapter for future trips
  • want extra USB and USB-C ports to charge multiple devices at once

Which type of socket does Poland have?

Poland uses two plug types:

  • Type C: the standard European flat plug with two round pins, without earthing
  • Type E: an earthed socket with two round holes and a protruding earthing pin in the centre

Type E is the most common socket in Poland. It is the same type as in France, Belgium, Czechia and Slovakia. If you combine your trip with one of these countries, you won't need an extra adapter either way.

There are no regional differences in Poland. Whether you stay in Warsaw, Kraków, Gdańsk or a remote guesthouse in Zakopane, you will encounter the same type of socket everywhere.

When is a world adapter handy in Poland after all?

Although you usually don't need an adapter for Poland itself, a world adapter can be useful in a few situations.

Do you have an older Schuko plug without a hole for the earthing pin? Then it does not always slot smoothly into a Polish type E socket. A world adapter avoids that problem.

Are you combining Poland with another part of the world? For example a flight via the US or a stopover to the UK (type G), then you will encounter other sockets along the way. A world adapter covers all these types in one device.

Want to charge multiple devices at once? Besides the universal socket, the Remodius World Adapter also has USB-A and USB-C ports, so you can charge your phone, laptop, earbuds and power bank at the same time, handy in a hotel room or Airbnb with just one socket.

Power and voltage in Poland

The power supply in Poland is identical to that in the Netherlands.

  • Voltage: 230 volts
  • Frequency: 50 Hz
  • Compatible with Dutch devices: yes

So you don't need a voltage converter. All your Dutch devices, think of phone, laptop, camera, hairdryer and shaver, work without any problems.

Buying a travel plug for Poland

For a trip to Poland itself you usually don't need to buy a travel plug. But if you travel more often, a world adapter is an investment that quickly pays off. You have one for all destinations, with USB ports for multiple devices and compact enough for your hand luggage.

Travelling onward from Poland to, for example, the UK, the US, Asia or Australia? Then the Remodius World Adapter works there too, in 220+ countries.
